As a subcontractor, you have the freedom to work the way you want as long as you meet or exceed our DCYF contract requirements, including:
- Managing your own client scheduling
- Working full-time or part time, as meets your needs
- Working remotely from your own home office or in the community
- The freedom to manage your time and your services the way you prefer
As a subcontractor you will be a small business owner working under the umbrella of The Patrick Group. You will earn a higher hourly rate than an employee and will have all the responsibilities of a small business including obtaining a business license, business insurance, and filing a small business tax return. We will happily provide guidance to you. With a modest amount of effort, you can easily put these requirements in place and enjoy the freedom and flexibility that comes with being self-employed while being under the supportive umbrella of one of the most well-respected firms in our industry.
The Patrick Group provides administrative support, including:
- An abundant and steady stream of client referrals
- Billing the appropriate agencies for your hours
- Submitting your reports to the appropriate departments
Application Requirements
Counselor Practitioner
Educational Requirements and Experience
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, social or behavioral science, or a closely related field and at least two completed college courses in clinical counseling and/or therapeutic techniques: OR
- Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or a closely related field and at least two completed courses in clinical counseling and/or therapeutic techniques.
- A current Department of Health (DOH) Healthcare Professional credential; and
- Two years of paid experience delivering services to families and children.
Additional Requirements
- 21 years of age
- Successfully pass a DSHS/DCYF background check
- Valid WA State Department of Health (DOH) Counselor Certification (at minimum or higher level of licensure)
- Proof of business auto insurance, commercial insurance, and professional liability insurance
- Current driver's license with no history of DUI violations
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Washington State business license
Skill Practitioner
Educational Requirements and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of supervised paid or unpaid experience working with children and families
- Knowledge of child abuse and neglect issues, home visiting, parenting skills training, mental health, and community resources
Additional Requirements
- Resume and cover letter explaining why you believe that you have the experience to provide services as a practitioner
- Professional references (3) along with your written permission for us to contact your references
- Successfully pass a DSHS/DCYF background check
- Proof of business auto insurance, commercial insurance, and professional liability insurance
- Current driver's license with no history of DUI violations
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Washington State business license
